Tips for Taking Care of Your Neck & Chest

So many of us put a lot of care into our facial skincare. We cleanse, moisturize, layer on our favorite serums, and make sure we are protecting our skin. But the neck and chest are two areas that are so easy to forget!! Let this be your reminder from your skincare friend – don’t forget about your beautiful neck and chest.

A few simple habits can make a big difference over time. Let’s talk about why the neck and chest deserve more attention, the one step I always remind my friends about, and a treatment I love adding into my routine!

Why the Neck & Chest Show Signs of Aging First

The skin on the neck and chest is naturally thinner than the skin on the face, which means it can be a little more delicate. Because of that, this area tends to show changes in texture sooner.

The neck and chest also produce less oil than the face, which can make them more prone to dryness. Over time, things like sun exposure and everyday movement can contribute to fine lines or uneven tone.

The biggest reason many of us notice changes here though is simple. We often forget to treat this area the same way we treat our face. Once you start extending your skincare routine down to the neck and chest, it becomes such an easy habit to keep up with.

Don’t Forget Sunscreen on Your Neck & Chest

If there is one thing I always remind people about when it comes to skincare, it is sunscreen. Most of us are pretty good about applying SPF to our face each day, but it is very common to stop right at the jawline and forget about the neck and chest. These areas get a lot of sun exposure, and protecting them can make a big difference over time.

I make it a habit to bring my sunscreen all the way down to my décolleté every morning. It takes just a few extra seconds and it is one of the easiest ways to support healthy looking skin long term.

Lately I have also been loving the sunscreen from Omnilux. It feels lightweight, layers beautifully with my skincare, and makes it really easy to extend that protection down onto the neck and chest. Think of it as simply continuing the protection you are already giving your face. Use code TAYLORLOVE for special savings!

Red Light Therapy for the Neck & Décolleté

Another thing I have been loving for this area is red light therapy. Red and near infrared light therapy has become really popular in skincare because it helps support skin rejuvenation in a gentle way. Many people use it to help soften the look of fine lines while also improving overall tone and texture.

One of the reasons I like it so much is because it is noninvasive and easy to add into a routine. It feels relaxing and does not require a complicated process.

A Device Designed for the Neck & Chest

The Omnilux Contour Neck & Décolleté device is my favorite for treating the neck and chest area. It is a dermatologist recommended LED light therapy device that was specifically designed to treat the neck and chest. It uses red and near infrared light and is FDA cleared for treating wrinkles in the décolletage area.

The design is also really thoughtful. The flexible mask wraps comfortably around the neck so it can properly target this delicate area. The goal is to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while also improving tone and texture. I love that it encourages us to treat beyond the face because the neck and chest deserve that same attention.

One thing I love doing before my treatment is applying the Omnilux Hydrogel Décolleté Mask underneath the Contour Neck & Décolleté device. It adds a little extra hydration to the skin and makes the whole routine feel like a mini treatment moment at home. I simply apply the hydrogel mask first, secure the LED mask over it, and then let the 10 minute treatment do its thing.

How I Use Red Light Therapy in My Routine

Using the device is actually very simple and easy to work into a routine. I start with clean skin, apply the hydrogel mask if I am using it, and then secure the LED device comfortably around my neck. The treatment lasts ten minutes, which makes it very manageable to fit into either a morning or evening routine.

Once the session is finished, I remove the mask and follow with moisturizer or the rest of my skincare products.

The general recommendation is to use it three to five times per week for about four to six weeks, and then continue with maintenance treatments as desired. It is one of those steps that feels relaxing and easy to stay consistent with.

The neck and chest deserve the same love and care as the rest of your skin. Small habits like applying sunscreen, extending your skincare products downward, and incorporating treatments like red light therapy can really add up over time. So consider this your friendly reminder from your skincare friend. Do not forget your neck and chest!!
