The Best Workout Set of 2026
Lately Iโve been thinking about the activewear pieces that truly earn their place in my closet. Not the sets that look cute online but are uncomfortable IRL, but the ones I actually reach for on early Pilates mornings, long walk days, coffee runs, and all those in-between hours when I want to feel comfortable but still put together.
For me, thatโs been the Aritzia Butter line.
Iโve been wearing these pieces for years now, and no matter what new brands or trends I try, I keep coming back to this collection. Over time, itโs become my little uniform.
Thereโs something about a matching workout set that just makes the whole day feel easier. You throw it on and suddenly you look intentional.
What Makes the Aritzia Butter Line So Good
What Iโve grown to appreciate most is how wearable it is beyond workouts. Some activewear feels very performance-focused or technical, which is great for high-intensity training, but the Butter line feels more like elevated everyday basics. It sits in that perfect middle space between activewear and lounge, which is probably why Iโve kept it in heavy rotation for years.
The first thing that stands out is the fabric. It really does live up to the name. Itโs incredibly soft, lightweight, and smooth in that second-skin way that moves with you instead of fighting you.
The Core Pieces I Always Reach For
Cheeky Hi-Rise Legging
These leggings were the first piece I bought, and theyโre still my most-worn. Theyโre high-rise with a smooth waistband that feels supportive without being overly compressive. The fabric feels barely there but still holds its shape, which makes them comfortable for Pilates and long walks but also perfect for everyday wear.
Cheeky Hi-Rise Short
The bike shorts are basically the warm-weather version of the leggings. Same soft Butter fabric, same flattering waistband, just in a shorter silhouette.
I wear these in the summer, to hot studio classes, or paired with an oversized button-down or sweatshirt for errands. They feel clean and minimal, not overly sporty, which makes them really easy to style outside of workouts.
Tumbler Bra Top
If I had to pick one standout from the entire Aritzia Butter line, it would be this sports bra. It has the same soft, second-skin fabric as the rest of the collection, but the fit is what makes it special. It feels supportive without feeling restrictive, which is exactly what I want for Pilates, long walks, and everyday wear. Some sports bras feel like theyโre squeezing you all day, but this one just feels comfortable in that โI forget Iโm wearing itโ way.
I also love how clean and minimal it looks. It pairs perfectly with the matching leggings or bike shorts, but Iโve also layered it under zip-ups, oversized button-downs, and even sweaters for that subtle athletic look. It completes the set in the best way and is easily the piece I reach for most.
Limit Zip Up
This zip-up is the piece that makes the whole set feel finished for me.It has that same soft Butter fabric, but the silhouette is what really makes it work. Itโs streamlined and flattering without feeling tight, and it layers beautifully over the matching set without adding bulk. Some workout jackets feel overly sporty or stiff, but this one feels polished enough that Iโll wear it well beyond the gym.
I throw it for walks, coffee runs, travel days, or anytime I want the outfit to feel a little more intentional. Itโs the layer that pulls everything together and makes activewear feel like a real outfit instead of just workout clothes.
Who I Think the Butter Line Is Best For
Iโd recommend the Aritzia Butter line if you love workout clothes that feel soft, flattering, and easy to wear beyond the gym. Itโs especially perfect if you like that studio-to-errands look and want pieces that feel polished but still cozy.
If youโre looking for ultra high-compression gear for intense training, this might not be your top choice. But if you want something comfortable, wearable, and genuinely nice to live in, these pieces have absolutely held up for me year after year.
