Galentine’s Day Party Idea
Galentine’s Day is one of my favorite little moments on the calendar. It feels slower and sweeter than most celebrations, with no expectations beyond showing up and spending time with your best girls. It is the perfect excuse to gather your favorite ladies, open a bottle of something fun, and have bonding time.
This year, I hosted a small Galentine’s Day (slash belayed birthday celebration) at home, and kept everything simple but intentional. There were easy appetizers, pretty drinks, cupcakes on the counter, and a floral arranging moment that turned into the heart of everything. If you’re planning something similar or just dreaming of a cozy night in, here are a few ideas for your Galentine’s Day party!
The Overall Vibe
I really leaned into soft, romantic details for my Galentine’s Day party – think blush tones, creamy neutrals, and cozy textures layered throughout the space.
I kept the decor simple and focused on pieces that felt warm and inviting. When everything feels relaxed and lived-in, it creates the kind of atmosphere where people naturally settle in and stay awhile.
Simple Appetizers and Sweets
When I host, I always gravitate toward food that feels unfussy and comforting. A mix of savory bites and sweet treats make it easy for everyone to snack at their own pace.
Instead of doing a Charcutarie board, I ordered these little cups from Amazon and it made it SO much easier than a big cheese board. This way girls can grab them and walk around without feeling messy! It is way more approachable than a cheese board in my opinion and really cute.
Presentation does most of the work here. Even the simplest items feel special when arranged on pretty platters or set out in thoughtful little groupings. And of course, cupcakes were a must. They’re easy, festive, and always a crowd favorite!
Drinks for the Night
For drinks we did DCV, Poppi, & champagne – kept it pretty simple.
Pretty glassware instantly elevates even the simplest pour. A pink coupe or delicate rim always feels a little extra special.
A Fun Activity: Floral Arranging
The floral arranging moment ended up being the highlight of the day! I wanted something creative but relaxed, and this felt like the perfect balance.
We hired a local floral designer to come teach us the basics of floral arranging for my birthday but you can also just set out fresh flowers, simple vases, and a few tools, then let everyone create at their own pace. There were no rules or expectations, just quiet moments of arranging stems, chatting, and admiring each other’s creations. Everyone left with something beautiful to take-home, which felt especially sweet.
Hosting Tips
The best hosting advice I can give is to keep things gentle and manageable. Prep what you can ahead of time and let the rest unfold naturally.
- Light a candle and let the room feel warm and inviting
- Pour a drink and take a moment to settle in
- Let conversations linger and unfold naturally
- Release the need for everything to be perfect
Remember, the most meaningful moments come from simply being present
Galentine’s Day does not need to be grand to feel special. A cozy space, thoughtful details, and the right people create all the magic you need. You will never regret planning something special for your girlfriends!
If you have been thinking about hosting something small, take this as your sign. Keep it simple, lean into what you love, and let the night lift everyone’s spirits.
XO!
