Creating a Vision Board & Manifesting for 2026
The start of a new year always feels like a soft reset. A fresh calendar, a little extra motivation, and a very valid excuse to buy new office supplies. It is that in-between space where reflection meets possibility, which makes it the perfect time to dream intentionally.
Creating a vision board is something I love to do at the beginning of each new year. It helps me lay out my goals, clarify what I am working toward, and intentionally manifest what I want the year ahead to hold. Think of it as part creative project, part mindset reset, and part gentle nudge toward the life you are building.
If you have ever felt curious about vision boards but also a little overwhelmed, consider this your permission to keep it simple, creative, and fun. This is how I created a vision board for 2026 that feels inspiring, practical, and something I will actually come back to throughout the year. I swear by vision boards and there is real science behind them workingโฆ Spend some time looking into neuroscience & Dr. Joe Dispenzaโs work if you are curious. Of course paired with hard work!ย
Creating Your Vision Board
Step 1: Start With a Big, Physical Board
I love using a tri-fold poster board from Target or a local office supply store. Bigger really is better here. The fold-out sides give you extra room to dream, layer, and let ideas breathe without feeling cramped.
It sets the tone that your goals are allowed to take up space.
Step 2: Create a Private Pinterest Board
Before anything becomes physical, it always starts digitally for me. I create a private Pinterest board and save anything that sparks something, even if I cannot fully explain why yet. This is your cue to dream big! Iโve had things even in the last few months come true from my vision board back in 2020โฆ Sometimes good things take time. ๐
I usually pin:
- Things that feel totally within reach
- Things that feel very โsomedayโ
- Travel destinations
- Career goals
- Colors, words, moods, and moments
- I like to get very specific even with they money amount I want to make that year! This works insanely well- would highly recommend. I always go into the year with a clear financial goal in mind and then leave space for the Universe to deliver.
This part should feel easy and intuitive. There are no rules and no pressure. Just follow what you are drawn to and trust that patterns will start to emerge.
Step 3: Print Your Inspiration
Once your Pinterest board feels full, save your favorite images to your camera roll and print them using whatever photo service is most convenient for you. Target, CVS, or Walmart all work great. Schedule a pick up!
Having real photos in your hands makes such a difference. It slows the process down in the best way and helps keep things curated instead of endlessly scrolling or flipping through magazines.
Step 4: Assemble Your Vision Board
This is the fun part. Lay everything out before gluing anything down, then start building.
- Glue or tape your images in place
- Add stickers, washi tape, and handwritten words
- Let it feel layered, personal, and imperfect
There is truly no right way to do this. If it feels good to you, you are doing it right.
Manifesting and Why Vision Boards Work
Manifesting does not have to feel complicated or intimidating. Itโs about getting clear on what you want and intentionally aligning your thoughts, actions, and energy with those goals.
When you regularly see images and words connected to what you are manifesting, your brain starts paying attention in new ways. It strengthens neural pathways tied to focus, motivation, and decision-making. In other words, you begin noticing opportunities, habits, and choices that support the life you are calling in.
A physical vision board keeps those reminders visible on a daily basis. It gently reinforces what matters to you and helps turn abstract goals into something tangible!
Include Every Part of Your Life
My vision boards always include a mix of:
- Professional goals
- Personal goals
- Whimsical dreams
- Financial intentions
Seeing everything together helps keep your goals balanced and reminds you that success does not have to look one-dimensional. You are allowed to want both ease and ambition.
One Final Touch and Displaying Your Vision Board
On the back of my board, I write out my goals and manifestations for the year. It is such a gift to flip it over at the end of the year and see what unfolded, what shifted, and what surprised you. Future you will absolutely get emotional!
Once your board is finished, place it somewhere you will see it regularly. I like to keep mine in my office where it doubles as decor and a daily reminder of where I am headed.
If you are easing into 2026 instead of charging full speed ahead, creating a vision board is a beautiful place to start. Lay out your goals, get clear on what you want, and give yourself permission to dream a little โจ
